The Faithfulness of Jesus Christ, the Son of God
Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end (Hebrew 3:1-6).
Both Moses and Jesus were called by God to be shepherds of His children--His household and both were faithful to Him who appointed them. Jesus, however, was worthy of more glory than Moses because Jesus, the Builder had more honor than what He built. We know that a house is built by someone but God builds all things. Moses was a faithful servant entrusted with the house which God built but Jesus, the Son was over His own house. We are that house, living stones--the church of Christ which is His body. He is the Head.
Jesus' faithfulness was evident in His perfect life, ministry, obedience and steadfast commitment to do His Father's will even unto death of the Cross (Philippians 2:8). He said to His disciples, “and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). This promise wasn't meant only for them. It was meant for us too and today, we see that our Lord is faithfully keeping it.
