The Holy Spirit (Part 11)

As I may have mentioned before the Holy Spirit is our Teacher which makes sense because He was the One who inspired the writers of the Bible.  Who else can teach us the Word of God and to help us to understand it than the Spirit of God?  As our Teacher, He does the following:

Illuminates the mind - "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.  These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual" (1 Corinthians 2:13, 13).

"However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you the things to come.  He will glorify Me, for He will take what is Mine and declare it to you.  All things that the Father has are Mine.  Therefore I said that He will take care of Mine and declare it to you" (John 16:13-15).

"...do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him" (Ephesians 1:16, 17).

Reveals things of God - "Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, or as His counselor has taught Him?  With whom did He take counsel and who instructed Him, And taught Him in the path of justice?  Who taught Him knowledge and showed Him the way of understanding?  (Isaiah 40:13, 14).

"But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.  For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.  These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches comparing spiritual things with spiritual" (1 Corinthians 2:10, 13).
